This battery pack with a 10M extension cord is designed only to make battery replacement easier for WS90/WS80/WS85 sensors installed in hard-to-reach locations. It does not power the WS90 heater. If you use a WS90 and require the heating function, please purchase a 12V extension cord instead.

Note:
1) "1/4/8/16" = max number of sensors supported per console (excluding accessories).
2) Upload only = sensor readings shown only in the Ecowitt app and cloud (www.ecowitt.net).
3) Firmware (e.g. V1.9.6 / V2.0.2) = gateway/console must run this version or newer.

Absolutely useless purchase

You will learn that you do not need this at all from the manual. I will explain why right away. This Battery Pack allows you to power the weather station at a distance of 10m. But it does not allow powering the heating of the weather station in the winter. For that you need a completely different adapter and if you have one this battery pack is useless! If you want to use the weather station in the winter you have to buy a 12V adapter and it will provide power and heating. This is a waste of money. I am so sorry that I only found out about this when the weather station arrived. Don't make the same mistake. Buy a 12V adapter right away!

Kludge patch that could be better engieered....

Once I knew my WS90 would be mounted on a pole above my roofline, I became concerned about a maintenance procedure to replace batteries. It looked like Ecowitt had me covered with this accessory. But in practice this should go back to design for additional consideration. I would like to run the wire down the inside of my pole and don't understand why the external battery case doesn't use larger batteries.

It works perfectly. The battery housing is waterproof. A long cable allows for convenient placement.

Easy Peasy

Easy to setup, super long extension cable just in case your PWS is far away. Great instructions.

Extension

I will use the unit when my current batteries are depleted.
My original battery cover has a seal to keep out the rain.
The new battery extension cover does not have a seal. I hope that it is
able to keep out the rain.
