Cable length connected to the probe is 3M (10-foot) extension cable length. Allows accurate temperature measurements in even the deepest pool.

  • Remote Monitoring & Email Alerts: Our water temperature thermometer for testing any wet temperature medium supports uploading data to our free Ecowitt Weather server(ecowitt.net) to view current temperature data & history record.

Good for bird house monitoring

I keep several bird houses on my property and usually have several birds nest in them in the summer. We've been having a heat wave recently and I needed a way to monitor temperatures inside the bird houses to make sure they do not get too warm for the eggs/baby birds.

The design of the WN34L sensors are perfect for this. The main unit can be attached to the outside or roof of the bird house and then only the wire/probe end fed inside, which is ideal because there is not much extra room inside the bird houses.

The WN34L probes immediately connected to my existing GW1100 and started transmitting data. The data feeds have been reliable even though one of the probes is about 100 feet away and has most of our house between it and the GW1100 hub. Data collected from the hub is then logging in Home Assistant where I can view current and past data in a dashboard.

I've been very impressed with the Ecowitt devices I've used so far. They are easy to use, reliable, and I appreciate that they can be operated locally without any dependency on internet services or the cloud.

not hurricane resistant

My second purchase of this sensor. It works great with RTL-SDR receiver/raspberry pi/weewx. Range is equal or better than typical 433 sensor. My first purchase disappeared after a particularly violent hurricane somehow sucked it out of my pool. Prior to that, it worked great and I had not changed the battery in over a year.

Love it, but haptic rain gauge is suspect

I love the UI of the web page and app. I love that the sensors are modular and I can add on. I love the idea of the haptic rain gauge, but it over calculates rainfall significantly. If there are ways to fix this, I would be happy to increase my rating because I love most of the platform.
