Product is great… but doc is crap and gateway SW is bad.

The doc would really need a full overhaul, with indications on where to find what, and fix dodgy translations from -I guess- chinese. It is a mess.

Why does the doc not depict WHERE is the reset button when it refers to, or WHERE is the microUSB (micro USB in 2024…) port when the FW upgrade doc refers to it…?

Documentation on whether NiMH battery can be used or not i still an full mystery, as the doc seems to contradict itself on this point.

The device itself is great. I’m not yet sure about the accuracy, but the overall feature list for the tag price is definitely good.

I only regret the mounting pole diameter (1”) which is definitely not very common on continental Europe.

Another terrible thing is the GW1200 gateway (ESP based…) which neither support TLS (i.e. no https://) NOR MQTT, which is close to be a showstopper. Adding a MQTT client would not be difficult (Tasmota and many closed source products do it on ESP…) it just a matter of will, Ecowitt!

Moreover ofter the initial upgrade, the UI became unusable with an up-to-date Safari browser, only serving it some of the page contents. For example, javascript but neither HTML nor CSS.

Love it! Easy, all-in-one and super accurate

Happy about my WS90. Super easy to install, easy to integrate into HomeAssistant and manage the data for automations.
